“ “God has blessed me, I believe the Lord sent me to Dr. Bhagwandin, he is an excellent, outstanding surgeon doing what he does. I was lucky enough to get him as a surgeon, he is the best.””

Ben was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer February of 2020. He hadn’t felt well, was dizzy and asked his son to take him to the ER. Tests were done and he was told something was wrong, having had a history of throat cancer in 2012 he was concerned. Ben was referred to a medical oncologist who diagnosed him with pancreatic cancer. Surgery was recommended and he was referred to Dr. Shanel Bhagwandin at Jupiter Medical Center. After meeting with Dr. Bhagwandin and reviewing his case, he learned he was a candidate for Whipple procedure, a very complex surgery.

Ben had three rounds of chemotherapy prior to surgery, which was performed in June of 2020 – a 12-hour procedure. He had another three months of chemotherapy post-surgery. Since that time, he has done well, has never had any pain, a good recovery and feels great. He is followed by his medical oncologist with periodic scans and sees Dr. Bhagwandin as well. Currently Ben is cancer free.
